dissidence

To use a phrase that I often hear from my friends, “dissidence” is when an individual’s beliefs are not in line with the group’s beliefs. When a member of a group of people is not in line with their beliefs, they are considered “dissident.” If a person wants to be a part of a group, they must take their beliefs and beliefs about themselves into consideration before joining.
